Our PSA was made to acknowledge the issue of education in African countries. As we were learning in class about issues that take place in Africa, we thought that education was one of the most neglected. As we got the idea into our heads of making our PSA on education we thought of many different ideas for our video. At first finding a program that would fit for the needs we wanted was tough. But then we found a few that really spoke to us. We used IMovie on the IPad as our main program, where we would fit everything in like pictures and statistics. As our product took more shape we knew that we wanted our video to stand out. We decided that our video would consist of only paper and colors. This was difficult because if we messed up the spelling there was no spell check. But as we really found a groove that worked, it was fun to do. Also one of the most important things in school that children learn is writing so why not show what our education has taught us? We knew that this was a good idea as we were actually pulling our piece together for the final draft. It looked good, and we were really feeling good about our PSA. We were so into the artwork of our piece we didn't even think about music. But then our teacher showed us a website called Jamendo to help us find a composition that would fit our mood. We found an amazing piece of music that really spoke to us when we heard it. It really went with our PSA, it gave us the feeling that our PSA was almost done. As the end rolled around we found that people really liked our video and that we really hit the nail on the head. That was great news because we had worked very hard to perfect our masterpiece. The whole experience of making a PSA was very fun and exciting. I loved making the video's artwork with my partner even if it sometimes didn't work as well as we may have hoped. All in all making the PSA on African education taught me that working with a partner can have it's ups and downs but that it is a great skill to be able to do.
